Out of Round Design is a metal fabrication shop that emphasizes construction projects requiring a high level of fit and finish. Since 2014, we have embraced growing opportunities to work with architects, designers, and builders in the Seattle area on interior and exterior metal projects that include furniture, railings, casework components, and kinetic elements requiring a high degree of precision. Although our fundamental expertise lies in welding and machining, our experience in furniture and cabinetmaking envelops a variety of materials. We are familiar with construction approaches that incorporate a range of traditional architectural materials, including wood, stone, resin, and glass. We continue to grow due to our consistent ability to provide fabrication solutions to challenging problems, as well as our attention to the subtle details of fit and finish that define high-end craftsmanship today.

In 2017, we began developing a series of specialty patina finishes using techniques adapted from printmaking and etching traditions. Through experimentation with a variety of pattern making techniques, we have created a series of striking metal finishes that lend themselves well to components in furniture design and interior architecture. Many of our specialty finishes are suitable for integration with other forms of media do to their similarities to grain and texture found in other organic materials. Along with our ability to provide more traditional metal finishing and sample matching services, these finishes allow us to provide furniture and architectural components that are truly unique to our company.
